Facebook Hacker Cup is an international programming competition hosted and administered by Facebook. The competition began in 2011 as a means to identify top engineering talent for potential employment at Facebook.[1] The competition consists of a set of algorithmic problems which must be solved in a fixed amount of time. Competitors may use anyprogramming language and development environment to obtain their solutions.
In 2011, over 11,000 people from around the world competing to solve some of the most difficult algorithmic coding challenges in three online elimination rounds.[2] The winner wasPetr Mitrichev from Russia followed by Anh Tuan Khuc (Vietnam) and Tiancheng Lou (China).
In 2012, over 8,000 people competed. The winner was Roman Andreev from Russia followed by Tomek Czajka (Poland) and Tiancheng Lou (China).
